Teething can be a difficult and uncomfortable time for babies. Here are five ways to help comfort your baby during this process:
Use a teething toy: Giving your baby a teething toy to chew on can help relieve some of the pain and discomfort caused by teething.
Massage their gums: Gently massaging your baby's gums with a clean finger or a damp cloth can also help soothe the pain.
Offer cold foods or drinks: Cool temperatures can help numb the pain. You can offer your baby chilled purees or a cold, damp washcloth to chew on.
Try pain relief medication: Talk to your pediatrician about using over-the-counter pain relief medication such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen to help ease your baby's discomfort.
Give extra love and attention: During this time, your baby may need extra comfort and attention. Holding and cuddling them can help soothe their discomfort and make them feel loved and supported.
